Day 6 and 7 Demolition

DAY SIX

Day six involved removing the French doors and preserving the frame pieces, checking out the attic (yipes), and getting a quote from the floor restoration folks, who verified that the floors are Douglas-fir. And of course, family shenanigans.

DAY SEVEN

Day seven summary:

  • A quick check in from Maj on her highs and lows from the project so far.

  • KeeKee's checklist skills

  • Another trip to the yard waste place

  • FOMO from Jessie (fear of missing out) when she left for work

  • Extreme brush removal

  • KeeKee kitchen demolition (we might as well get the top cabinets down while we still have the dumpster)

  • Massive leaf removal (in the future, I'll probably mulch and reuse the leaf detritus in my garden!)

  • A new realization that we need to hire someone to put in a support beam before we move forward with the bedroom demolition & remodel

  • Katie stands by her work

  • Celebratory dinner at Georgia BBQ just down the street
